Homeschool & Hijrah With Huruuneen

Transform Your Homeschooling Journey with Expertise That Truly Understands You

With a Master’s in Education, a background in Educational Psychology, English Literature, and Computer Science, and over 25 years of experience in education & hijrah, I bring something most homeschool resources lack: professional, research-based expertise combined with firsthand cultural insight and Islamic guidance.

Homeschooling isn’t just about worksheets and schedules—it’s about building a future rooted in excellence, faith, and confidence. Unlike typical homeschool blogs or generic websites, I don’t just hand you “tips and ready-to-use worksheets.” I go beyond lessons—I teach parents how to structure confident homeschooling rooted in barakah.

The Balancing Act

Balancing Homeschooling, Household, and “Me Time” Without Guilt

As Muslimahs, our hearts often carry the weight of responsibility—nurturing our children, maintaining a peaceful home, and striving to care for ourselves spiritually and emotionally. Homeschooling adds an extra layer, where the roles of teacher, mother, and homemaker merge seamlessly… or at least we hope they do. But let's face it: taking a moment for yourself can often lead to feelings of guilt.

Remember, self-care is not selfish. The Prophet ﷺ encouraged balance in all aspects of life. Spending intentional time for rest, reflection, and personal growth allows you to return to your family refreshed and more present. Even a few minutes of dhikr, a short walk, or a quiet cup of tea can recharge your heart.

The Qur’an reminds us: “And We have made your sleep a means of rest” (Surah An-Naba 78:9). Resting is not weakness; it’s wisdom.

Creating structure helps, too. Plan homeschooling sessions around your energy peaks, divide household tasks into manageable pieces, and schedule short “me times” without guilt. Your home and your heart thrive when you are mindful, intentional, and compassionate with yourself.

Checklist for Balance:

  • Schedule focused homeschooling hours

  • Break household chores into daily, manageable tasks

  • Block 20–30 minutes daily for “me time” (reading Qur’an, tea, reflection)

  • Use weekly planning to visualize time for family and self

  • Begin and end the day with dhikr and dua

Today's Takeaways:

  • “Rest and recharge: ‘And We have made your sleep a means of rest’ (78:9)."

  • “Structure your day, honor your roles, and embrace the journey.”

  • “Nurture your soul: small moments of dhikr and reflection keep the heart balanced."

The Prophet ﷺ was sent to perfect good character, and these values must be modeled and taught daily.

“The best among you are those who have the best manners and character.” — (Bukhari)

We want parents to teach children personal responsibility, time management, and awareness that they are accountable to Allah for their actions, words, and choices.
